Sources told Page Six that the pair are set to tie the knot on Friday July 3 in New York City, with the Love Story singer known to be a big lover of the Fourth of July celebrations in the US.

The city that never sleeps also holds a special place in Taylor’s heart as she owns a double penthouse complex in Tribeca which is believed to be her primary residence and has also written numerous songs about the Big Apple. Despite this, the news comes as a surprise as previous reports stated that the pop star and Kansas City Chiefs champ were planning to wed in Rhode Island, where Swift owns another large estate next door to a hotel.

However, a source previously told the US publication that the pair was thinking about scrapping that idea and going “all out” at a totally different venue that can accommodate more attendees.” Reports state that the venue and date have now been confirmed as family and friends have received their save the dates after the pair announced their engagement last August.

The weekend that Taylor and Travis have chosen to wed is set to be a big celebration for the entire country as this year is also America’s 250th anniversary. This July 4 will mark 250 years since the Declaration of Independence was adopted in 1776.
