Meghan Markle once made a shocking revelation in relation to her and Prince Harry’s ongoing row with the royals about their security.

Meghan Markle Worried

Meghan Markle once revealed she pleaded with the Royal Family while pregnant with her son Prince Archie to keep her and Prince Harry’s security team and even wrote letters to them because she didn’t feel “safe”.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been embroiled in a long-standing feud with the Firm after they quit their royal duties and moved to America back in 2020 with one of the reasons being the royals’ decision to axe their security completely.

During their bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021, Meghan revealed her concerns over the Royal Family reducing their security personnel when she was pregnant with Archie in 2019 and said she felt “unsafe” due to the media attention on them.

She told Oprah: “This went on for the last few months of our pregnancy, where I’m going, hold on a second… he needs to be safe.

“We have created this monster machine (of clickbait and tabloids), you’ve allowed this to happen, which means we need to be safe. While I was pregnant, they wanted to change the convention, for Archie. Why? There’s no explanation.”

During the same interview, Harry claimed the decision to axe their entire security team happened with “short notice” and very soon after they stepped down as working royals.

The couple stressed they were concerned over their safety while Meghan claimed she wrote emails to the Firm asking them personally not to remove their security.

Harry added: “While we were in Canada, in someone else’s house, I then got told, short notice, that security was going to be removed. So suddenly it dawned on me: ‘Hang on, the borders could be closed, we’re going to have our security removed, who knows how long lockdown is going to be, the world knows where we are, it’s not safe, it’s not secure, we probably need to get out of here.”

The Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC) removed Prince Harry’s automatic right to police detail in February 2020.

Meanwhile, last December Harry said in a statement released as part of a hearing to have this decision overturned: “It was with great sadness to both of us that my wife and I felt forced to step back from this role and leave the country in 2020.
