Although Travis Kelce put that “dawg’ in him on full display during Super Bowl LIX’s defeat, he’s adding to Taylor Swift’s collection of kittens with a new puppy of his own – and it’s already showing its teeth by destroying an expensive piece of home decor.
Jason Kelce, Travis’ older brother and a retired Philadelphia Eagles center, revealed the chaotic arrival of Travis’ new dog on the Fitz and Whit podcast. He confessed that he was unaware of his younger brother’s new pet until he noticed a strange change at Travis’ house – a $100k green velvet couch from an Italian designer had been moved.
“He [Travis] had these couches, and they were like green velvet. Like over-the-top couches. And I go, and I’m like ‘Dude, I’m not gonna say the dollar amount, but I’m like dude, what are these couches,'” said Jason. “I came back maybe six months after that, and I come back and one of the couches is like pushed up against the wall. I’m like, ‘Why did you move the couch?’
“He just got a puppy. The puppy had chewed a hole in the back of it.”
While the new Kelce puppy has yet to make an appearance on social media, Swift’s fans are already speculating about how her famous trio of cats – Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button – will react to their unexpected new housemate. Swift’s cats have long been a part of her public image, with Benjamin Button even featuring alongside her on the cover of TIME magazine’s Person of the Year.
All three cats, named after fictional characters, have been showcased to Swift’s approximately 450 million followers across various social media platforms. Despite rumours of an imminent engagement heating up, there are numerous photos of Swift over the years suggesting she has no issues with dogs.
During the cover shoot, Swift stated, “The most influential factor in my life is cats. I have cats. I’m obsessed with them. They’re just a real joy to live with.”

Fans have noticed a more mature version of Travis since he started dating Swift. Jason also mentioned how Swift has encouraged his brother to “grow up” since they began dating in mid-2023, something he didn’t foresee for his 35-year-old sibling.
Swift was present at Super Bowl LIX and seemed surprised to hear boos when she appeared on screen. She saw Kelce make only four catches for 39 yards, sparking talk about his post-NFL career, as the Kansas City Chiefs suffered a 40-22 defeat to the Eagles at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
