Jason Kelce had no luck persuading wife Kylie to wear Kansas City Chiefs gear to the Super Bowl on Sunday, with the Eagles WAG refusing out of her love for Philadelphia.
Kylie was in Las Vegas with Jason last week to watch his brother Travis and the Chiefs face the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL’s end-of-season showpiece.
It proved a historic evening for both the Kelces and Kansas City, who prevailed in the final three seconds of overtime to become the first back-to-back Super Bowl champions for almost 20 years.
Jason was seen cheering his brother on in the stands while donning Chiefs-themed overalls and a red-and-yellow shirt with Travis’ nickname, ‘Big Yeti’ written on the front.
Kylie, on the other hand, opted for a red University of Cincinnati sweater – the college both her husband and Travis attended.
While she did follow the color theme, Jason revealed on the latest episode of his and Travis’ New Heights podcast that his wife refused to wear any Chiefs gear out of her love for his team of the last 13 years.
‘Kylie got some love from the Philadelphia fans for her continued refusal to wear Chiefs gear, even though she has personal connections,’ the Eagles center said. ‘She just does not wanna do it.
‘She’ll wear other universities but she won’t wear other NFL teams.’
Travis responded: ‘I appreciate it, Ky. I appreciate you even wearing red. You could have worn something neutral and showed your support. You showing up was enough for me.’
Jason then opened up on his attempts to change Kylie’s mind before the game on Sunday, which ultimately proved unsuccessful.
He continued: ‘I’ve tried and said to Kylie, “We have family in the game. It’s ok to cheer on that team, they’re not playing the Eagles. You do realize this isn’t against the Eagles right?”
‘But she just refuses. Anything to go against Jason.’
Kylie hilariously revealed how her superstitions stopped her from watching the Super Bowl from the stands as she cheered brother-in-law Travis on to glory.
Kelce and Jason took a seat in a $1million VIP suite paid for by Travis – alongside Taylor Swift – to cheer the Chiefs in a gripping Super Bowl that nearly became too much for her.
She wrote on Instagram: ‘At some point Sunday, my superstition kicked in hard.
‘I refused to watch the game, even on the TVs. Here is Sarah King being the real MVP. I was just watching her reactions and that kept me in the loop.’
Jason certainly made the most of Super Bowl week in Vegas, attending a number of concerts and hitting the casino with Kylie – where Dailymail.com captured them enjoying a big win the night before the game.
And after the Chiefs’ win over the 49ers, footage emerged of the 36-year-old dancing hilariously in his Kansas City overalls and a wrestling mask at their victory party.
‘I had to bring out the Chiefs overalls for this one,’ he said on his own outfit choice.
‘I was trying to figure out what to wear, and I thought if I went with the Chiefs overalls and I had straps that could hold my shirt down, the straps would hold my shirt down so I couldn’t take it off when I felt the desire to be more composed.’
Travis then joked: ‘Nothing would’ve been better than seeing your nipples on the field man, f**k.’
