Travis Kelce was surprised by how much larger horses look on TV when he attended his first Kentucky Derby over the weekend.

‘Not gonna lie, thought the horses [would be] way bigger,’ he admitted on Wednesday’s episode of the New Heights podcast.

While chatting to his brother, Jason Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs player revealed he got ‘up close and personal’ with the thoroughbreads.

‘When you see it on TV and you see the horse-to-jockey ratio you’re like “damn that’s a big ass animal,”‘ he joked.

‘But in reality the jockeys are all like 100 pounds, little guys.’

Elsewhere in the discussion, Travis said he had a ‘f**king blast’ at the 150th Run for the Roses, held at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky Saturday.

‘It was a once in a lifetime experience that I am definitely going to try to experience again,’ he said, noting that he reunited with his pal, Jimmy Fallon.

‘He’s a brilliant man. He was walking around with a little labrador in his hands … that’s how you do it,’ Travis went on.

‘That’s how you make a statement and get everyone to f**king love you because the dog was cute as hell.’

Travis also referred to the talk show host as a ‘smooth operator’ who was ‘on the move’ working the room.

‘Appreciate the invite,’ Jason sarcastically chimed in.

‘You don’t get out the house,’ the tight end fired back.

Fallon later shared a clip of himself chatting to the three-time Super Bowl champ, both of whom wore white suits, while holding a golden retriever puppy in his arms.

His canine companion was the dog who represented the horse Resilience in The Tonight Show’s Puppy Predictor segment ahead of the Kentucky Derby.

It was a busy weekend for both men. After the Derby, Fallon jetted back to New York City for the Met Gala while Travis flew to Florida where he attended the Miami Grand Prix without his girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
