Hoda Kotb is spilling the tea on her breakup with Joel Schiffman, and it’s juicier than a summer watermelon!
So, Hoda and Joel, who have been a pair since 2013 and got engaged in 2019 (talk about taking your sweet time!), decided to call it quits in 2022.
They adopted two adorable girls along the way—Haley, who’s 7 and has probably mastered the art of negotiation, and Hope, who’s 4 and likely knows how to throw a tantrum with the finesse of a Broadway star.
In her latest interview, Hoda was all like, “Joel is as awesome as a double chocolate chip cookie, and I’m pretty great myself—more like a triple chocolate chip cookie.
But even the best cookies can crumble when they’re not baked in the same oven,” she told The Jamie Kern Lima Show.
Apparently, their relationship hit a snag because they were growing at different speeds, kind of like a tortoise and a caffeinated rabbit.
“We were like two GPS systems arguing over the fastest route,” Hoda explained. “One wanted to take the scenic route, and the other was all about that shortcut.”
But here’s the silver lining: despite not being a couple anymore, Hoda and Joel are still tight, like peanut butter and jelly, as they navigate the wild world of co-parenting.
“Joel gave me two amazing kids, and I probably would’ve been a bit scared to go solo,” Hoda told People. So, despite the split, they’re still a family—just with a different recipe!
