The buzz around ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is real, especially with the introduction of new characters like Lady Deadpool. Since her debut in ‘Deadpool: Merc With a Mouth #1’ back in 2010, Lady Deadpool has become a standout character.
In her original story, she hails from Earth-3010, a place caught in endless civil war.
The big question on everyone’s mind is, who will play Lady Deadpool in the MCU? My first choice, and the person I believe will take the role, is Blake Lively. Known for her role in ‘Gossip Girl,’ Blake is not only a talented actress but also the wife of Ryan Reynolds, Deadpool himself. Rumors have connected her to Lady Deadpool since February, and her chemistry with Reynolds could bring something special to the screen.
If not Blake, then who? Ryan Reynolds himself might be our next best bet. In the comics, Lady Deadpool is essentially Wade Wilson from another universe. It wouldn’t be a stretch to see Reynolds donning a wig and taking on this role too, adding a fun twist to his already iconic character.
Lastly, Taylor Swift was once a rumored contender for the role. Seen with Reynolds and director Shawn Levy at a Chiefs game, she sparked discussions about possibly portraying Lady Deadpool. However, her packed schedule and recent reports, including one from Entertainment Weekly, suggest her appearance is unlikely.
We’ll all find out when ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ releases in theaters on July 26. Meanwhile, there’s plenty more to explore, from new movies on streaming services to upcoming Disney+ releases.
Whoever ends up playing Lady Deadpool, I’m excited to see how they bring her to life on the big screen!
