Chiefs Arrive in New Orleans as Super Bowl Showdown Nears
The Kansas City Chiefs have officially landed in New Orleans as they prepare for their historic Super Bowl three-peat attempt. Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and the team arrived in the Big Easy on Sunday, where they will face the Philadelphia Eagles in a highly anticipated rematch of Super Bowl LVII at Caesars Superdome.
A Rousing Send-Off from Chiefs Kingdom
Before departing, Kansas City fans lined the streets, waving red and yellow signs to cheer on their team. Wide receivers Hollywood Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster shared Instagram videos capturing the emotional farewell, with Smith-Schuster captioning his post, “Love and support in the neighborhood”, alongside heart emojis.
Upon arrival in New Orleans around 5 p.m. ET, head coach Andy Reid was the first to step off the plane, followed closely by his wife, Tammy, dressed in bright red. Mahomes looked focused, sporting a custom Super Bowl LIX sweatshirt with “BOSS” emblazoned across the front, while Kelce, known for his fashion flair, kept it casual in a mustard-colored sweatsuit and a commemorative Super Bowl cap.
Chiefs Settle in at Their Super Bowl Headquarters
The team boarded six waiting buses and headed to the New Orleans Marriott on Canal Street, where they will stay throughout Super Bowl week. The four-star hotel, located between the historic French Quarter and the Warehouse Arts District, offers views of the Mississippi River, a state-of-the-art gym, and a heated rooftop swimming pool. Players can enjoy dining options ranging from the Canal Street Burger Bar to 5Fifty5 Restaurant, known for its award-winning gumbo and authentic New Orleans cuisine.
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles arrived earlier in the afternoon, staying at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, located along the riverbend. Their arrival was marked by a playful moment when pilots unfurled a “Geaux Birds” flag—a nod to the city’s Cajun-French influence.
A City Buzzing with Super Bowl Energy
Both teams now have a week to acclimate to New Orleans’ vibrant atmosphere before clashing for football’s biggest prize next Sunday. As fans flood the city’s streets, the anticipation for this rematch continues to build. Will the Chiefs cement their dynasty with an unprecedented three-peat, or will the Eagles get their revenge? The countdown to Super Bowl Sunday is officially on.
