The Kansas City Chiefs are prepping to pack their bags for New Orleans, where they will take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9. They will do so as a “family,” of sorts, with high-profile relationships focused in large part on the Kelce clan.
Indeed, as the Chiefs celebrated their recent 32-29 win over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game, there was Kansas City’s star tight end Travis Kelce on the field, in the company of Taylor Swift and her family and Kelce’s mom, too.
And in the presence of Travis’ pop-icon girlfriend, Mom lectured her boy sternly.
First came a “private” exchange between Kelce and Swift, as the shared a hug and a whispert.
“I love you; I’m so proud of you,” Swift said to Kelce.
“I love you so much,” Kelce replied.
But then came “Mama Kelce,” who’d watched the AFC Championship Game from the VIP suite alongside Swift’s mother, Andrea, and father, Scott. … and a stern lecture about the temptations of Bourbon Street.
The interaction was revealed in a clear video from the field posted by the Kansas City Star on TikTok.
“We know where you’re gonna be,” said Kelce’s mom, with Swift looking on. “We know your history.”
Travis knew exactly what she meant, fully understanding how New Orleans can turn into an alcohol-infused party.
“I won’t be having as much fun as I did before,” Travis said of previous trips to the city.”
Replied Mom: “No, you won’t!”
“No grenades,” Travis agreed.
The “hand grenade” is a signature cocktail of the Tropical Isle bar. … and it appears that in the past, Kelce has enjoyed a few (too many?).
But this time around, as the Chiefs hope to defeat the Eagles to become the first team in history to win three straight Super Bowls? Maybe the Kelce family and the Swift family and the Chiefs family can party … after the game.
