BREAKING: Simone Biles reveals the damage to her calf as she wears protective BOOT following painful end to Paris Olympics

Simone Biles Calf Problem

Simone Biles insists ‘everything is good’ with her injured calf – despite the gymnastics legend wearing a protective boot following the end of her Olympics campaign.

The 27-year-old American could only manage a silver medal on the floor on Monday after hurting her leg in the warm up.

Biles slipped after landing and appeared to worsen a calf injury that has plagued her throughout the Olympics.

She later finished fifth in the balance beam, falling off the apparatus in front of a shocked crowd that included NFL legend Tom Brady.

It was a painful end to a golden games for Biles, who had already secured top spot in the team all-around, individual all-around and vault competitions.

She appeared on NBC on Monday night wearing a protective boot but the gymnast allayed fears over the injury.

‘The calf is good – it’s just precautionary, making sure,’ she said of the boot. ‘Just a little bit of soreness.’

Biles had been battling a calf problem ever since the qualifiers for the women’s team final last week.

It didn’t appear to have affected her in competition until Monday, however, when the American was left grimacing and in need of treatment from Team USA medical staff.

When asked if the injury plagued her routine on the floor, Biles added: ‘I feel like elite athletes are pretty tough so – through pain or pleasure – we’re ready for whatever… but everything is good.’
