The View panel opened Thursday’s show with hot topics and slammed billionaire and X owner, Elon Musk immediately.

During an interview at a leadership summit, Elon was asked about advertisers fleeing his website X (formerly Twitter) over his response to an anti-semitic post. He said: “If somebody is going to try to blackmail with advertising, go f***k yourself. What this advertising boycott is going to do, it’s going to kill the company and the whole world will know that those advertisers killed the company.”

And it’s a view Whoopi Goldberg clearly wasn’t a fan of. Speaking to the panel, she said: “He’s proving that money does not always seem to buy happiness.” Continuing her rant, she later said: “That’s why you get off of it [X]. If you are not participating it’s a big statement. If you do not participate, then you are not complicit. You are saying, this is not where I want to be. Join us who have stopped because I do not want to be associated with that.”

Whoopi is known to react and give her opinions on air. On November 8, Whoopi faced intense backlash from fans as they called her a “smug billionaire” for her “insensitive” take on millennials work ethic. She also warned actor Taylor Lautner that he did it to himself when marrying someone with the same name.

In Thursday’s conversation, Alyssa Farah Griffin also said Elon is a brilliant person but labelled him also irresponsible and reckless. She said: “He needs to realize he is going after a minority that is being targeted and it is so unacceptable. Others like Joy Behar called Elon disgaceful and Sara Haines said he is reactive and impulsive so he cannot control his emotions.

Users on X are not happy with Elon or some of things the panel said. One user said: “Hey AFG! There’s NOTHING “brilliant” about bigotry, anti-Semitism, homophobia, or ANY kind of hate!” Another said: “Serious question: why do people say Elon Musk is “brilliant”? #TheView”
