Ben Affleck leaned on his friend Matt Damon for support amid his divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
The Oscar winner, 52, enjoyed dinner with his long-time best friend, 53, at the Italian restaurant Toscana in Brentwood on Sunday evening.
The duo were joined by Damon’s wife, Luciana Barroso, 48.
The pals were spotted departing the restaurant separately, and newly single Affleck appeared somber as he left the eatery on his own.
Meanwhile, Damon appeared in good spirits as he left alongside his wife Luciana, flashing a huge smile and bidding farewell to friends.
Affleck kept it casual for the outing, opting for a button down worn over a plain T-shirt.
He combined the top with a pair of jeans and his trusty Nike sneakers.
Matt, meanwhile, decided on a black polo shirt that showcased his toned arms, jeans, and white sneakers.
He appeared absolutely jovial as he left the restaurant alongside his gorgeous wife.
Luciana was also in a happy mood for the outing. She sported a black fitted tank top that displayed her svelte abs along with flowing trousers.
Damon has been married to Luciana since 2005 and they share three children together – daughters Gia, 14, Stella, 13, and Isabella, 16. Damon is also stepfather to Luciana’s daughter from a previous relationship, Alexia, 24.
Affleck and Damon are childhood pals who first found fame after they wrote and co-starred in 1997’s smash hit drama Good Will Hunting.
Earlier this month, as rumors swirled about the state of Affleck and Lopez’s marriage, Damon said he ‘could never imagine living like’ his famous friend.
Matt said that was fortunate his own personal life had been mostly ignored due to his 19-year marriage to Luciana being considered ‘boring’.
Promoting his new film The Instigators which he stars in alongside Ben’s brother Casey, 49, Matt told Radio Time Podcast: ’25 years ago, the gossip magazine culture was huge but they ignored me.
‘I wasn’t an exciting story; the guy who’s married, it’s boring! Scandal and sex, that’s what people would read magazines for. I’ve been really lucky’.
He continued: ‘Especially when I look at Casey’s brother, Ben. We’ve had parallel careers in a lot of ways, but I can’t imagine living under that scrutiny for 25 years’.
Sunday’s dinner outing comes just days after Affleck’s estranged wife filed for divorce earlier on their second wedding anniversary.
Lopez filed paperwork without an attorney and a prenup – two years after the pair tied the knot in July 2022, followed by a second ceremony the next month on August 20.
After months of split rumors, Lopez pulled the plug on her marriage to Affleck when she filed for divorce last Tuesday.
She cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for the split, and listed April 26, 2024 as the separation date.
Recently, a source told People that Ben’s ‘mood swings’ was a reason for her split from Affleck.
‘The truth is there was a great deal of love but also unfortunately what became clear were Ben’s erratic mood swings that he couldn’t hide from the press, as much as he tried to.’
‘You could see the erratic behavior, the giant mood swings,’ the insider said, adding Affleck could go from, ‘being incredibly happy and warm – the best light that emanated from him’ to showing ‘his deepest, darkest behavior.’
In regards to the split, the source stated, ‘They were trying to work through it, but when the mood swings and the big highs and big lows informed a toxicity that was pervasive, no one can help you – you have to help yourself.’
‘But I would not be so bold to say there isn’t love – of course there is. The world was rooting for them, but who he said he was and who he turned out to be were two different people.’
Meanwhile, on Saturday, Page Six reported that Affleck has been ‘hanging out’ with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s daughter, Kathleen ‘Kick,’ amid his divorce from Lopez.
The Good Will Hunting actor has been seen with Kick, 36, on various outings, a source told the outlet.
The insider stated the pair have spent time at the Polo Lounge located at the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel, as well as other celebrity hotspots.
Despite the two being spotted together, the nature of Ben and Kick’s relationship is currently not known.
