Andy Reid challenges the NFL “Whatever they want to do, the Chiefs will be ready”

The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the most unconventional NFL schedules ever, with games on every day of the week except Tuesday.

They are set to play 14 out of their 17 games at 4:25 p.m. ET or prime time. So even if you don’t want to, you’re gonna see a lot from the Chiefs this year.

The season kicks off on Thursday night against the Ravens, they play on Black Friday, have a Week 16 game on a Saturday, and a Week 17 game on Christmas Day, which falls on a Wednesday. Is this the Taylor Swift effect, or just the price of being a highly successful team over the last years.

Having won consecutive Super Bowls for the first time in nearly two decades, three championships in five years and eight divisional titles in a row the Chiefs are a hot commodity and a must watch in the NFL. However, head coach Andy Reid remains unfazed by the demanding schedule.

At a recent press conference, Reid said, “It’s the first time in my career that this has happened, it’s unique, and you know how we are, we don’t really care. They can give us a Tuesday game if they want, and we’ll be okay there, too. We work through it, we’ll play anybody, anywhere, whatever they want to do. We’re on board.” To be the first time in his long carrer tells a lot about the situation. Will the Chiefs become the first team to play every day of the week or even better the first team to win three consecutive Super Bowls.

The NFL certainly considered this when crafting the 2024 schedule, granting the Chiefs a league-high eight standalone games, including matchups on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The networks are undoubtedly eager to feature the reigning champs and Taylor Swift as much as possible.
