Jason Kelce Breaks His Silence on the Super Bowl and His ‘Mixed Emotions’ Watching His Brother Lose Both the Game and Taylor Swift on the Same Day
Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce, older brother of Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, has spoken out after his former team dominated the two-time defending NFL champions in Super Bowl 2025.
The Eagles led by as many as 34 points and defeated the Chiefs 40-22 on Sunday night in New Orleans, securing the franchise’s second Super Bowl victory—coinciding with Travis’ second championship loss.
The Kansas City-Philadelphia showdown was a rematch of the 2023 Super Bowl, when the brothers faced off before Taylor Swift entered their lives, and the Chiefs emerged victorious.
Now an ESPN analyst, Jason was in New Orleans to witness his brother’s excitement turn into disappointment.
“Congratulations to the Philadelphia Eagles, my former teammates, and friends on being SB LIX Champions!!” Kelce wrote on X. “There were a lot of emotions last night, and now that I’ve collected my thoughts, I’ll attempt to share them in the longest tweet ever.”
Jason admitted that watching the game was a strange experience.
“That game was odd for me to watch, if I’m being completely honest. I knew it would be a mix of emotions before, during, and after, and now I know what my parents had to deal with two years ago. On one hand, I wanted the best for my brother and to see his success. On the other hand, I have so many friends, teammates, and coaches in the Eagles organization whom I care deeply about—many of whom helped shape my own success.”
Jason’s former team defeated his younger brother Travis and the Chiefs in a dominant performance.
“I am very proud of Jalen Hurts, Nick Sirianni, and this entire team. They persevered through adversity, silenced their critics, and proved themselves to be the best team this season. Winning a Super Bowl requires talent, coaching, fortune, and character—this team had it all.”
He also praised the Eagles’ unique identity.
“The character and swagger of this Eagles team were truly special to behold—a true representation of the toughness and grit that makes Philadelphia what it is. Well done, fellas. Well f***ing done.”
Kelce Expresses Love for His Brother Despite the Pain of Defeat
As for his brother, Jason made it clear that his love and admiration for Travis remain unchanged.
“There isn’t a person I love or care about more. It’s been tough to process these feelings. Of course, I feel for him and always root for him, but I know he doesn’t need or want my pity. He has achieved greatness that few on this planet could ever dream of, as has his team, and they should take pride in their accomplishments.”
Kelce believes the Chiefs’ dominance will be remembered despite the heartbreaking loss.
“Right now, they’re still thinking about last night and the shortcomings of the final game, but in time, that will fade. Their greatness as a team will remain one of the most dominant eras of football ever. Man, I love this sport, the people who play it, and the fans who enjoy it. There’s nothing else like it.”
Finally, he celebrated Philadelphia’s victory in true Eagles fashion.
“Congratulations, Philadelphia! I look forward to the speeches and celebrations in the coming days. I mean, who doesn’t love a parade? In the words of Chase Utley, ‘World Fing Champs,’ and to all the haters, remember what my man Jay Ajayi said: ‘F ‘em. Go Birds.’”
What’s Next for the Kelce Brothers?
Now, speculation turns to whether another Kelce brother will retire this offseason. With Travis’ relationship with Swift progressing and his mainstream appeal at an all-time high, questions about his future loom large.
Travis has remained silent since the Super Bowl loss, leaving fans wondering what’s next for the Chiefs star.
